Max is a Vice President and provides Pala with research insights and deep expertise across commodity markets. He also serves as a senior portfolio manager for a commodity hedge fund, for which Pala provides certain services.

He brings extensive experience across both physical and financial commodity markets, with particular expertise in agriculture. Prior to joining Pala, Max was a cross-commodity Portfolio Manager at Stoa Capital and, before that, an Executive Director at Marex Spectron, where he led coffee and cotton trading activities. In that role, he contributed to hedge fund alpha generation and helped build out research, execution and business development capabilities across agricultural markets.

Earlier in his career, Max held trading roles at Volcafe (ED&F Man), where he ran proprietary trading books alongside physical trading activities across both derivatives and physical markets, spanning destination and global origin regions.

Max holds a BSc in Chemistry with Physics from Newcastle University.
